We are deeply inspired by the teachings and legacy of Imam Ali (ع), who described poverty as a “greater death,” emphasizing how it reduces people to strangers in their own homeland. Imam Ali’s (ع) leadership was never about building empires; instead, it was a groundbreaking mission focused on eradicating poverty (Ghurbat) and uplifting those who suffered. His tireless efforts to restore dignity and justice to the poor, alleviate hardships, and elevate lives from the depths of abject poverty resonate profoundly with us today. His example guides us as we confront the pressing issues of our society, recognizing the grave importance of curbing the disastrous consequences of poverty.
